How Hardlock Works
Hardlock uses a two-part locking arrangement consisting of a main nut and an eccentric cone nut. The two nuts lock together through opposing wedge forces to resist loosening.
1. Main Nut
The main nut is tightened onto the bolt or stud in the normal fastening position.
2. Eccentric Cone Nut
The eccentric locking nut is then tightened against the main nut to create the locking effect.
3. Opposing Wedge Forces
The wedging action between the two nuts creates resistance to loosening, even in demanding vibration applications.
Compared With Traditional Locking Methods
Hardlock is often considered where traditional locking methods do not provide enough confidence for severe vibration or high-maintenance applications.
